Job: Full-TimeLocation: Millbury, MA*Pay: $25.00 HourlyWe are seeking a reliable and physically capable Construction Laborer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be eager to take on new challenges, have a willingness to learn, and the physical stamina to perform rigorous duties over long periods. You will participate in a variety of construction projects and follow construction plans and instructions from the site supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up and maintaining construction sites, ensuring they are clean and safe.
- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
- Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
- Load and unload construction materials and tools.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials.
- Use equipment to break old forms and structures.
- Prepare and apply construction materials to build structures or fill gaps.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and carry out tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist in traffic management to ensure the safety of the crew and the public.
- Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
- Prior experience in a construction-related field is preferred.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy items and work overtime.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Good understanding of basic math.
- Proficient in using manual and power tools safely.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Completion of a vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans would be a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
This job requires the ability to perform tasks on physical job sites, which may include exposure to weather conditions, loud noise, dust, and hazardous materials. Workers must adhere to safety protocols, including the use of protective gear, and be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work from heights or in small confined spaces if needed.
